Bluejacket is the long awaited Neighborhood Restaurant Group brewery at the historic DC Navy Yards.  It has been a few years in the planning and I was fortunate enough to be involved from the beginning.

Housed in an old factory that manufactured boilers for Navy ships, the lighting concept for the project was always "industrial nautical" meets Jules Verne steampunk....right up my alley!!   The towering ceiings meant hanging fixtures were impractical, and therefore necessitated more intimate lighting, actually attached to eating surfaces or telescoping from the walls and floors.

To achieve this intimate yet industrial feel, I decided to mix different metals, much of it lined or accented with amber colored glass to provide some continuity in the spaces.  I created six different sets of lighting, about 40 pieces in total, for the bar and restaurant areas.
